Hey, I'm Alex!

Since elementary school, I was fascinated by the uses of technology in our everyday lives. I wanted to cultivate my interest in utilizing cutting edge technology to enhance our daily routines. To develop this interest, I am majoring in Computer Science at University of California, San Diego. I enjoy working with products that impact people's lives. From my experience in the field, I am passionate about mobile technology because of its practical applications and influences. The variety of concepts and applications using mobile technology never ceases to impress me.

I am a third year student looking for summer internship opportunities to further enrich my academic passion in mobile development.

I also pursue various hobbies such as photography. I greatly enjoy taking landscape photos. In addition, I am an avid angler, hiker, free-climber, pretty much any nature activity.

About Minerva:

Minerva Networks is an IPTV middleware firm

My role:

As a QA intern, I performed blackbox testing on current and future releases. I also assisted with our partners' software certification. I worked with Director of Engineering and Director of Services on implementing changes to Minerva's software development process.

Tang Structural Engineers Inc

About Tang Structural:

Tang Structural is a structural engineering firm specializing in civil structures

My role:

As an intern, I drafted structural details using AutoCAD. I also shadowed senior engineers for onsite building inspection.

UCSD Circle K Masquerade Ball 2014

Project Description:

UCSD Circle K Masqeruade Ball relays event information to our attendees before and during the event. This mobile application features a random activity suggestion generator, directions to the venue, and general information

My Role:

I consulted UCSD Circle K Masquerade Ball committee for features needed on the application. I designed and programmed the application over the course of two months

Project Description:

This is the official website for UCSD Circle K club. The website conveys important information about our meeting dates, service events, socials, leadership opportunities, and membership

My Role:

As a member of the technology team, I co-wrote the backend of the club website in PHP. I utlized the MVC design method: Model, View, Controller.

Foodme

Project Description:

Foodme is an elaborate mobile POS (Point of Sale) system. Using Foodme, patrons can order food, request checks, call waiter, write reviews for menu items, and submit jukebox music requests

Foodme was designed and implemented with a team of ten software developers in CSE 110: Introduction to Software Engineering

My Role:

I programmed the ordering page, call waiter function, and checkout page
